Gable The triangular end of a roof above the eaves which closes the roof on that end. Also the triangular end of a dormer or a triangular cut in a roof for a window or door. The slope of the gable end depends on the slope of the roof. For Gothic designs the slope tends to be acute; for Classical buildings the slope is gentler. |
