Modillion

Originally these were projecting brackets under the corona of the Corinthian or Composite orders. In Canada, this term is used for the brackets supporting the soffit and fascia of Neo-Classical, Classic Revival, and Italianate buildings. A modillion is a bracket whose horizontal side is longer than the vertical.
